Welcome to Hearth to Horizon, a Christian micro-school in Catharpin, VA! We are passionate about nurturing Christlike character, encouraging curiosity, and helping students grow in skill, imagination, and thoughtful reflection. Our unique approach blends elements of classical education with Charlotte Mason-inspired methods, cultivating a deep love of learning in a supportive, engaging environment.

Mission Statement

Hearth to Horizon exists to nurture Christlike character and academic excellence in students through a guided homeschool model rooted in Classical and Charlotte Mason educational philosophies.  

At Hearth to Horizon, our mission is to cultivate a love for learning, Christlike virtue, and academic excellence in each student through a unique blend of guided homeschool instruction and enriching classroom experiences. We exist to support families in their educational journey by providing a Christ-centered, holistic curriculum that nurtures the heart, mind, and soul.

Rooted in both Classical and Charlotte Mason educational philosophies, we aim to awaken wonder, encourage critical thinking, and build foundational knowledge through living books, meaningful work, nature exploration, and the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty. As a Christian micro-school, we are committed to helping children grow not only in knowledge, but also in wisdom, character, and faith. We partner with parents to guide students two days each week in a supportive, engaging environment, while equipping families to carry learning into the home throughout the rest of the week.
